Insects for the blind and partially sighted

Kaverljag 2011

Interdisciplinary 8-day workshop aims to find creative solutions to the preset problems, to create and publish a booklet with relief illustrations and Braille alphabet which will enable the blind and partially-sighted to explore through the sense of touch at least a part of the natural beauty and richness of the flora and fauna. The project will join biologists, specialists for communication with the blind and partially-sighted and artists in a common project with the goal of creating special tools, which will help the blind and partially-sighted to explore the world of insects. It’s a way of pointing out the problems of marginal groups of people and of creating a warmer environment for the handicapped. The content of the publication will describe the physical properties of insects, which are unavailable for these people to touch in their natural environment.
